"I chose the field of pain medicine so that I could help rehabilitate patients and restore their ability to participate in everyday activities.

I find this branch of medicine compelling due to the complex interplay of the nervous system and the medical disease process. I like to develop a personal relationship with my patients and provide them with hope and encouragement that their pain can be reduced and their quality of life restored.

Pain management can be a frustrating endeavor for the patient, and at times the provider, when hoped for expectations are not met. My patience and empathy, with and for my patients, afford me the strength to continue moving forward with their pain care.

I enjoy camping, backpacking and being active with my family. I want my patients to enjoy an active life as well."
